In ancient times, the city was made by casual juxtaposition of the mass and volume of their monumental building, the city was an accumulation of individual complexes. The city did not follow rules like the modern city grid.
Metaphysical Park depicts a surreal realm by applying ancient urban planning logic and bringing rescaled monumental architectures into the current urban context. The combination of familiar architectures across the passage of time shows the extension of meaning, and examines the new relationship of the combination in a new context. These are represented in surrealism artists, especially Giorgio de Chirico. Metaphysical Park brings the conversation from painting into architecture.
Inspired by surrealism, Metaphysical Park possesses illogical features like the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions, and non-sequiturs to create a surrealist park by rescaling and relocating monumental architectures.
